Do want to write and publish-fiction?
Writing – Where to Start?
We all want to write and publish-fiction and inside every person is a great story waiting to be told, usually several.
If you can write a simple letter you can write an essay, a short story, a novel, fiction or non-fiction, poetry, playwriting, film writing, journalism and more.
Writing has many avenues that you can pursue, so you have to work out how best to get your story written, and published. I did and some 10 books later I find getting published even easier.
I have been this route and now have several books in print, however it is not an easy path and I am going to give you some good advice on how to achieve your dream.
The first thing is to forget about being a famous novelist or start writing with the pure intention of making money, first off start writing and publish-fiction for fun and tell your story.
The fame may come later, and the first thing you need to do is to actually start. There are a lot of people and companies trying to cash in on your desire to write with lots of “become a rich and famous author, learn how” type books and courses, and of course you can never learn too much, however you will have to sell a lot of books to make back the investment.
You can get all that you need to know for virtually free off the internet. It is not as easy as many make out to publish-fiction and remember if it were easy everyone would be doing it. It is a fact that publishers get literally tens of thousands of unsolicited manuscripts across their desks every year and so getting into print is very hard indeed. Publish Your Short Story, Share Your Synopsis!

Publish-Fiction All About Creative Writing?
Of course we all would aspire to writing the great novel and there is a great novel within everyone if you can only convert it into some words and get people to buy it. There are two entirely separate facets to, one is the writer and the other is the publisher. You must remember that the publisher is in it to make money.
If a publisher can’t see a profit in it they are not going to invest in it. As a writer you may have a story to tell, something to say to the world, however if it isn’t marketable it will never see a bookshelf. There are many publish-fiction genres to choose from, ranging from crime, romance, sci-fi, thrillers, mystery, horror and a lot more. The choice should always be one you are interested in, you may even create your own genre.
It is not be accident that many big selling authors are thematic, Steven King, John Grisham, Agatha Christie and so on. Find your genre, the subject you know best and build your novels upon those. Even a novel has to show the reader that the writer is both authoritative and credible, and this turns the fiction into the reality that marks a great novel and novelist. You too can publish-fiction and realise your creative ambitions
What is a Synopsis?
If you want sell your work to a publisher you will need to write a synopsis that sells. Writing a synopsis of your novel is a good exercise at creating the storyline and the main elements. A synopsis is a concise summary of your manuscript that provides an overview of your work.
It is highly condensed version that has to contain many elements that must grip the potential editor and publisher. Click on the link to a detailed explanation of writing a winning synopsis for your work. You too can publish-fiction and realise your creative ambitions
All About Technical Writing
If you have a degree or other qualifications in most disciplines and a capacity or ability to write then you could convert that skill into new career, that’s what I did and it lead to many books and a lot more. These days the world is full of new technologies, and they need someone to write about how they all work, procedures etc, and this includes Banking and Finance, QHSE, Information Technology, Education and Training, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering and more.
You can convert those skills into a valuable income if you have the skills with a flare for writing. I started off wondering how I could harness my profession in marine electrical and electronics, with my love of small boats and yachts and that of writing. With an industry standard course under my belt, this lead to several books for small boat and yacht electrics and electronics, that turn a nice profit.
This also lead onto other writing opportunities such as writing for magazines and journals. I have found that technical writing has really helped my fiction writing, it has taught me how to properly research, how to look at details and accuracy (credibility is everything in a book these days), it has also taught me how to edit and a lot more as well.
It is highly recommended that you undertake a technical writing course, this is a skilled occupation and requires a lot more discipline that people might think. Most people who claim they can write technical manuals and procedures do so very badly, and they are skills that must be taught and learnt. People’s lives depend on proper technical procedures and information and so doing it well is very important. Most employers demand formal qualifications and memebership
In the UK most employers will demand that you have appropriate qualifications (This is a C & G of London Certificate in Technical Authorship) and have membership of an appropriate professional body – The Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC). In the United States there are also training courses and The Society of Technical Communicators (STC).
How do you Self Publish?
I self published my first book, got a bank loan, did all the artwork, prepared everything and then had to sell the 2000 copies, and that takes marketing and a lot of effort. Lucky for me a major publisher picked up the book and republished it in hard cover and that has lead to several more books. The original printing was also sold out yielding a useful profit. How do you Internet Publish?
The best medium that ever came into being for self publishing-fiction is the internet. You can start a site and start writing material immediately, you can write a web blog and export your creative efforts to the world and you could probably make more money off the web site than the book itself. You can also publish small e-books and sell them as downloads off your own website, in fact you could make more than the book royalty you would receive from the publisher and reach a much wider audience.
Click on the following link and learn how to create your own website, one that is so easy a kid could do it and what is more, make money of your site to fund your writing efforts. This site was prepared using the same system, no special skills, no programming knowledge required, no need for special programs etc. This package is just $299 and that includes website domain name and hosting for the year plus automatic search engine submissions and lot more besides. In fact if you have a special interest subject you can start writing about this as part of website content generation and make a very good profit doing it.
Of course another big market for your writing talents and publish-fiction ambitions is that of writing web content for others. The web runs on quality written content and this is where you can get into print very fast indeed. You too can publish-fiction and realise your creative ambitions
